Anxiety is a normal response to real or imagined danger. However, there are times when anxiety starts out as a normal response to something and can get out of control. When this happens, the person experiences intense anxiety which can lead to panic attacks. Panic attacks are also known as anxiety attacks because the person experiences them when the perceived danger is real and there is no way to stop it.
A panic attack is often triggered by something very small, however, the degree of threat is great enough that the person begins to have serious symptoms. The symptoms experienced during an attack are the most common of which are shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, chest pain, nausea, dizziness, sweating, trembling, and a feeling of detachment from one’s body. Some people also feel as if their heart is racing, and others begin to shake uncontrollably. These feelings are difficult to describe in words and are a frightening experience for the person experiencing them.
Many people who experience anxiety have trouble being able to control their emotions. These individuals may find themselves getting very upset over insignificant things. Over time, this has led to some people suffering from depression and becoming almost completely emotionless.
Anxiety can take many different ways, but it all begins with the same basic elements. Once a person starts to feel threatened or anxious, they will try to defend themselves. This usually involves biting their nails, clenching their fists, shaking uncontrollably, or hyperventilating. Because of these actions, these anxiety triggers lead to symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, palpitations, fatigue, or a feeling of impending doom.
There are some people who are perfectly able to control their anxiety, however, the majority of people will not be able to react in a normal response to a given situation. For instance, a child who throws a temper tantrum because they’re hungry may have a natural fear of hunger, but they should not react to this as being real or a threat. What is true is that when a child feels threatened or anxious, they may develop symptoms similar to those associated with normal anxiety.
Those who suffer from panic attacks also develop similar symptoms. In fact, the only real difference between the two is that panic attacks can actually be stopped and treated while anxiety will not. Often times, people suffering from anxiety will learn techniques on how to fight or control their anxiety. However, those who suffer from panic attacks often find it nearly impossible to find the proper techniques to effectively prevent or stop panic attacks.
Some symptoms of anxiety include shaking, muscle tension, fidgeting, sweating, and a racing heartbeat. These are all features of anxiety and can be recognized when a person is suffering from anxiety. Often times, it is easy to tell if someone is suffering from anxiety if they have difficulty with one or more of these symptoms.
Anxiety is a normal reaction to the different situations that life can present to us. We must remember that even the smallest change in a situation can cause anxiety and that people who suffer from anxiety often develop some personality characteristics that make them more vulnerable to developing panic attacks. Even if an individual does not suffer from anxiety, they still may be susceptible to developing anxiety disorders.
When one suffers from panic attacks, many times they attempt to stop the attack by doing anything to numb themselves or dull the sensations associated with the attack. In some cases, they take drugs, or medications, or even self-medicate. Many times, they will go on vacation or take some sort of self-imposed time off to avoid triggering their attack.
Many people experience their first panic attack at around age twelve or thirteen. Often times, it is an event in the life of an individual, such as losing a job, a school reunion, or a doctor’s appointment. The unfortunate part about this is that sometimes this type of event will lead to anxiety or panic attacks later in life. One’s early experiences with anxiety can be instrumental in helping an individual to become more comfortable with anxiety in the future.
The last thing that we want to point out is that sometimes those who have had past experiences with anxiety and panic attacks can also suffer from them in the future. We feel that when someone is suffering from anxiety attacks, they have a very vulnerable heart. and it is important to help them avoid these situations to minimize the likelihood of future attacks. and fears.
